Prayer is a lifeline! Praying is living, especially when you God is your father. We strengthen the relationship we have with God in the place of prayer. We bond with our heavenly father in the place of prayer. Prayer is our face-time with God. Our ever opened communication line to the King of kings. That is why God gave us a lifetime of unrestricted access to come boldly before him with no feeling of inferiority.
Prayer is our face-time with God.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.
The enemy envies that relationship you have with God, and he will do all in his power to ensure you don’t make use of it.
So, today, I share 13 things that happen when you stop praying.
1- When you stop praying, you start making poor choices in life. Prayer helps us focus on important matters of life. It helps make the right choices.
He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” Matthew 26:42
Prayer helps you make the right choices in important matters of life.
2- When you stop praying, you start hiding from God. For things pertaining to God, do you develop cold feet? Do spiritual things matter less? If yes, it is likely you have stopped praying.
When they heard the sound of God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from God. Genesis 3:8
3- When you stop praying, you lack energy when it matters most. We receive supernatural strength to do both the natural and supernatural when we pray. Before trying any other energy sources, pray first.
He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed. An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. Luke 22: 41 & 43.
Prayer empowers us to do the extraordinary in life.
4- When you stop praying, obstacles start to get in your way. Are things generally standing in your way? Do you get fresh obstacles each time you attempt the same thing? Maybe you have stopped praying.
However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:21.
5- When you stop praying, you lose freshness and go stale. God’s mercies, blessings, anointing, and other goodies are fresh for each day. It only makes sense that you go stale when you don’t talk to him that frequently.
Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:9.
When you pray, God grants fresh manner.
6- When you stop praying, you lose your spiritual hedge of protection. Prayer provides a spiritual covering that protects you from the enemy’s attack. This hedge also guarantees God’s blessings to you.
Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? Job 1:10a.
7- When you stop praying, you lose inspiration, excellence and start making errors. Daniel was a man of prayer.
…because an excellent spirit, knowledge, and understanding to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems were found in this Daniel… Daniel 5:12.
8- When you stop praying, you start to lose spiritual ground. Prayer feeds the spirit man. When you don’t pray, the flesh wins over the spirit and you become carnal.
So, I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other...But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5: 16-18.
When you pray, the flesh is subdued, and the spirit-man thrives.
9- When you stop praying, you start fighting unnecessary battles. Do you see yourself picking unnecessary fights and starving yourself of vital energy and focus?
Again, I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. 2 Timothy 2:23
10- When you stop praying, you become ordinary. Prayer brings out the supernatural into our everyday ordinary lives. You lose the supernatural touch when you stop connecting in the place of prayer.
If you have faith in God and don't doubt, you can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will. Matthew 11:23.
11- When you stop praying, things start to fall out of place for you. When you pray, the stars align for you — everything just seamlessly to fall in line. Stop praying, and things fall out of place. Even nature appears to fight you.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
Psalm 16:6.
When you pray, the stars align for you. Nature works for you.
12- When you stop praying, bad habits and spirits quickly fill up your prayer space. Nature abhors vacuum.
When a corrupting spirit is expelled from someone, it drifts along through the desert looking for an oasis, some unsuspecting soul it can bedevil. When it doesn’t find anyone, it says, ‘I’ll go back to my old haunt.’ On return, it finds the person swept and dusted, but vacant. It then runs out and rounds up seven other spirits dirtier than itself and they all move in, whooping it up. Luke 25-26.
13- When you stop praying, you lose your peace. Prayer keeps our focus on God and our minds at peace. When you pray, you remain at peace.
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3.
When you pray, depression vanishes.
So, pray without ceasing. The bible says that the fire on the altar must not go out. You must continue to feed it with wood. Leviticus 6:12. Prayer fuels God's fire in your bones.
